Skip Hire Permits
There may be an occasion when you need to place a skip on the public highway, including new building projects or house clearances. Any skip that needs placing on council land will need a road permit.
Many of our suppliers will be able to arrange a road permit for you at an extra cost. However some local councils will require you to organise a road permit before being able to order a skip ‘on road’
Selecting The Correct Skip For The Job
The type of waste you are looking to dispose of will affect the size of skip that you should select. Materials such as brick, rubble, soil or hardcore are classed as heavy waste and as a general rule skips larger than 8 yards are NOT suitable as when filled the lorries cannot lift them.
For lighter waste types such as metal, wood and cardboard any skip size is suitable. Our skips can be used for all sorts of projects from home renovation works to garden and home clearances.

In order to dispose of the materials above, you are required to contact your local council to seek further advice. They can advise you on how to remove and dispose of items that are not accepted in a skip such as those classed as hazardous or other waste types such as food or oil based waste.
